This is my last year at LNPS and I would love to leave the school on a memorable note. I am really excited about the graduation and would love to participate in the planning and organisation of the ceremony. I would like to hear ideas from my classmates and share my own ideas to make the graduation memorable for us all. I have really good planning skills and am able to express myself clearly in a group. I am confident that my positive approach to tasks and my creative ability will benefit the committee. I am willing to give up my lunchtimes for this to make sure that the graduation is a success. I would feel privileged to be a part of the planning and look forward to a great graduation ceremony!

New Moon is the sequel to the book Twilight. I would recommend you read Twilight first to the picture of the story, it is an absolutely amazing book.

In New Moon Bella is upset when her boyfriend Edward leaves because he thinks it is unsafe to be around her. All Bella wants is to become a vampire like Edward so they can live together forever.

The pain and suffering that Bella feels when Edward is gone is written very well. You can basically feel the pain yourself. Bella forms a close friendship with her friend Jacob who is a werewolf. The only thing bad about that is the fact that vampires and werewolves are enemies. A lot of the book is about who to choose.

I would HIGHLY recommend this book for you. It left me reading till very late at night. I just couldn’t put it down!

Today my class and I went on an excursion to the Migration Museum. We went there to find out more about our inquiry question- Why is the world coming to ______? We were given somebodies belongings and we had to put on gloves and be like detectives. We had to find out the persons name and more information. We then watched videos about the people and their migration experience. I found out alot and really enjoyed the day!

This term for our homework we have to do a Personal Research Project on a topic that interests us. I am doing mine on ‘Music through the years’. I am really excited about researching it because I think I will find out a lot

The reason I choose music through the years would be because I am a big fan of music and I would like to find out alot more about music in different years.

I can’t wait to find out some information and present it!

This week in art we learnt about a style of painting called Pointillism. It is a style of art where you use dots to make a picture. The dots are all different colours and they blend together and it looks really cool!

I have just started mine and I am doing a picture of the hills and a sunset. I can’t wait to finish it!

This past week we have been learning about percentages. The meaning of percent is per hundred. In one lesson we learnt about converting fractions into percentages. It is really quite easy once you get the hang of it! So say the fraction is 24/32. First you have to multiply the denominator, which in this case would be 24 by 100. Which equals 2400. You then have to divide the denominator by the numerator, so in this example it would be 2400 divided by 32 which equals 75. You then change that into a percentage which is 75%. It is really simple once you practice it a few times.

On Tuesday the 23rd of June 4 athletes visited the upper primary classes. They are teaching us about leading a healthy lifestyle. The athletes were Mo’onia Gerrard, Jonathon Giles, Matt Thomas and Wade Thompson. They spoke to us about tobacco and the chemicals inside a cigarette. We had a true or false quiz and we also had to name illnesses from smoking. We learnt alot today and it has certainly put me off smoking!

During maths this week we have been learning about circles. We have used them in our art work and have created many different pieces. First we created abstract artwork with circles. We had to cut out lots of different sized circles on different coloured paper. We then had to cut slits in them and connect them together. We then had to make an object out of that and it had to represent something. We also had to have a title. They all looked great at the end! We also had to make a piece of artwork called a Mandala. It is a pattern that is circular and can somtimes be symmetrical. It was very fun and they all looked really good and colourful! Since learning about circles and using them in art I have found out alot of things.
